Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF) Outreach project

GoFundMe COVID-19 PPE FUNDRAISER

Following the outbreak of the Corona virus in Zambia, ZACOPH created a  Gofundme page with the aim of raising money to purchase masks, gloves, sanitizers and cleaning supplies in order to help ensure that as many health care workers are protected against SARS-CoV-2 as they work tirelessly to manage the spread of the virus. 

​

On the 2nd November 2020, ZACOPH President, Dr. Edna Chikoye presented Minister of Health, Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, with the PPE donation worth K66,800.

 

ZACOPH humbly thanks all those who donated generously, especially the young Zambians who championed the campaign.

We would also like to extend a heartwarming thank you to Lusaka Helps who donated face-shields.

ZACOPH Annual General Meeting 2019

The annual general meeting was held on the 30th November 2019 in Lusaka, Zambia. As an elective AGM, the current executive committee was ushered during the meeting.

ECSACOP 4th Scientific Conference and

Annual General Meeting 2019

The 4th ECSACOP Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting, held under the theme “The Emerging Threat of Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Africa” took place in Livingstone Zambia from 5th to 7th September 2019. It was officially opened by the Honorable Minister of Health of the Republic of Zambia Dr. Chitalu Chilufya and attended by representatives of the World Health Organization, the Royal College of Physicians of England, fellows of ECSACOP, and members of the Zambia Medical Association.

The Conference sought to address common NCDs and their risk factors, in order to promote the intensification of preventative measures against NCDs in the East Central and Southern African region. In addition to highlighting the growing NCD crisis in the region, the conference aimed to increase awareness of the ECSACOP mission to improve standards of healthcare throughout the region through the provision of specialist training for physicians committed to lifelong learning. 

 

With attendance of well over 200 participants, a total of 38 presentations from physicians and public health experts from across the region where delivered during the conference. These covered areas such as NCD prevention and risk factors, epidemiology and clinical management of various NCDS.

ECSACOP Clinical Supervisors Trainer of Trainers Programme January 2019

Ndola, Zambia 

On 5th -7th February, ECSACOP conducted its 4th Training of Trainers in Ndola, Zambia. The workshop brought together 17 physicians drawn from the biggest hospitals in Zambia including University Teaching Hospital (UTH), Ndola Teaching Hospital (NTH), Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH), Nchanga North Hospital (NNH), Kabwe Central Hospital (KCH) and Mutti Kabelenga Hospital (MKH)

​

The workshop was organized by ECSACOP with support from the Zambia Ministry of Health

​

The training was facilitated by Dr. Phil Gothard from the Royal College of Physicians, London, with support from Dr. Mark Dixon, the ECSACOP Training Director at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo.
